2019 seems to be flying by and its another month in the bag.
October was a good month in terms of profit and I also started creating more content for my youtube channel.
Lets take a look at results from October in the long running journey to making a million.
Matched Betting – Sports Offers, Arbitrage, Value Betting
Things seem really quiet on the matched betting front these days.
Bet365 2ups are still the best offer out there. Will Hill seem to have cut down on golden goal and its pretty slim pickings elsewhere. Still money to be made but I have been thinking about just loading my accounts up and hammering arbitrage bets until their rendered useless.
Going forward I am going to have to have a look at the best way to utlize soft bookmaker accounts in the current climate.
The vast majority of my volume this month came from value betting. This is mostly with softbooks but I have also found that with 0% commission (from being a member of Oddsmonkey) you can get value bets on both Matchbook and Smarkets. If you focus on getting money matched on the lay side of the book.
In September there were 281 matched betting offers and value bets.
A total profit of £1124 was made.
Subscription Cost – £12.50 a month (Annual Subscription)
Advantage Play – Casino Offers
Having done thousands of advantage play offers I have found that you get the odd month where it seems like you just can’t lose. Then you go through a period where it seems like all you can do is lose.
What is funny is that your mindset adjusts to this and you go into every offer with the expectancy that you are going to win (good periods) or destined to lose (bad periods).
This is why the majority of people really struggle with the higher risk casino stuff.
October was a good period with a few decent sized wins in succession allowing a really good profit by the end of the month.
In September I did 145 offers.
A total profit of £1937 was made.
Subscription Cost – £9.60 a month (Annual Subscription)
Sports Betting Results
In October I made 30 bets in total.
A total loss of £226 was made.
Not a lot to write about here. It was just a month where it felt like we were on the wrong side of variance.
Split decisions went against us in MMA and in football poor finishing seemed to cost us.
If you want to get access to the majority of my bets. My free betting and trading service is still accepting members. This service is currently in profit by 8 points after staking 91.75 points. If your interested in betting/trading as a long term investment then this will suit you.
Trade On Sports
Trade On Sports has struggled to deliver any profit so far.
Did things pick up in October?
Lets starts with the in-play football bets which have historically been very strong.
In-play football 19 bets were made staking £103 per bet
a loss of -£634 was made.
There were 67 prematch tennis selections
A profit of £162 was made.
In NFL there were 18 selections
A profit of £396 was made.
Combined loss of -£76 was made following TOS selections.
I should note that these results will not be the same as TOS official results. This is because for the in-play football selections bets can be send out at any time early morning or late at night. So I miss these due to sleeping. Other times they don’t hit the criteria of matching odds of 1.6 before 70 mins.
(On a side note honestbettingreviews.com have been running a review of this service and have included several wins in their results that never hit odds 1.6 before 70 mins. However they record them as winners at 1.6 which they are not, so these results are not correct.)
So yeah very honest of them to do that.
NFL I struggle to match the quoted odds for all selections but I am able to get bet better odds often for the selections I can get on.
Its fair to say that Trade On Sports is stuttering at the moment. I do worry that VAR could have a big impact on the in-play football bets. Given that its based on historical data and we don’t know the full impact that VAR will have on goal expectancy going forward.
Whilst we see more penalties given for handball, marginal offsides which would have once been fine are causing goals to be ruled out.
I am sure someone cleverer then myself will have some data on it by the end of the season.
Going to look at how TOS has performed up until January and then reassess whether to keep it as part of the portfolio or not.
October was a solid month for my own personal trading without being spectacular.
I created a few videos on my overall approach to pre-match trading which have gone down really well.
In total a profit of £252 was made from trading.
