50K Betting And Trading Challenge – February Results

ValueBetting - The easiest way to make money on sports

I did it I smashed my 50k in a year target!!!

Is what I would be saying if I had won £205k on a casino offer this month.

But yeah that didn’t happen to me.

I noticed the beginning paragraphs of these updates are becoming pretty similar each month and thought this would at least freshen it up a little.

This is actually a win from a member of the Profit Maximiser group.

So what were my actual results?

Matched Betting – Sports Offers, Accumulators, Arbitrage

Getting 0% commission with Matchbook has been great. It means I can fire off as many arbitrage bets as possible.

I’ll take small 1%-2% arbs all day as it only takes minutes and that money isn’t growing if its sitting in my bank.

Oddsmonkey also announced in March that premium members get 0% now with Smarkets for the next few months.

This means that these small savings are really starting to add up. Arbitrage has become a much bigger focus for me this month and will be going forward.

A total of 201 matched betting offers and arbitrage bets were made in February.

The total profit was £956

Advantage Play – Casino Offers

The casino gods looked after me a bit better this month.

There was no one huge win but plenty of decent blackjack offers this month gave good profit.

I get more questions about casino offers then anything else.

Casino offers are really simple as unlike sports betting you know exactly what your edge is as your playing solved games.

You just have to keep grinding through the offers and make sure your bankroll can sustain the losing runs that will come.

The best advice I can give is to use matched betting and arbitrage profits to fund the casino offers. That way you psychologically feel like your only losing money won from bookies.

This month I took part in 104 offers.

The total profit made was £995

Trading Results

Trading volume dropped in February compared to January.

In January I made 24 trades and in February I made a total of 10.

Been a busy month and didn’t find myself looking ahead for pre match trades much this month.

Which explains the drop in volume. This was something I wasn’t really aware of till I wrote up this blog post.

There were no huge trades, I used a few tried and tested strategies that continue to work.

A profit of £160 was made from trading.

Sports Betting Results

My sports betting continues to be pretty unorganized and sporadic now that I don’t follow any tipsters.

Mixed martial arts and in-play football betting are areas where I think I can continue to spot value.

Overall my sports betting is looking pretty solid with a 9.41% roi from nearly 200 bets.

I’ll be pretty happy if I can maintain that over a bigger sample of bets.

There were only 9 bets in February.

A total profit of £143 was made

Two months are left in the £50k betting and trading challenge.

It looks very unlikely that I will hit my target. Being £30k short with only two months left.

However with it being Cheltenham festival this month (March) £25k profit inside a year looks pretty realistic.

In a way I am quite glad that I have come short of my target. As this is the reality of betting and trading. It isn’t always a smooth ride.

Often with social media you only see people smashing big profits everyday but obviously this isn’t the reality.

February was a really good month with every part of the portfolio making a profit.

Writing this 10 days into March and it looks likely that I will follow it up with another profitable month.

One thing I will say is make sure you make the most of all of those Cheltenham festival offers.

This is always a great time of the year for making profits.

  1. Hi

On your arbitrage trading, you have been doing it loads, do you not get gubbed quickly by the bookies?

Also quick question in terms of money management, how do you split your bankroll between the strategies and how much do you typically put down per bet om the casino.

Thanks and best of luck for the last 2 months!

    • Hi Ben

I arb a lot with bookmakers that I am already limited with and a few that don’t offer much value in the way of bonuses.
Different bookies take different approaches. Some I can’t bet with at all but others let me win up to a certain amount.
The ones that still let me bet although limited are the ones I use the most.

I don’t split my bankroll to a set amount between strategies.

For casino offers it depends what it is. Slots usually spins between £1-£2.
      Blackjack offers £5 a hand sometimes £10.

      Thanks for the support

      Ryan
